  • Electrical Power

    The nearest grid connections are at Ayer Tawar (500/275KV) and at LPIP (132KV) for the LPIP.

  • Voltage and Frequency

  • Co-Generation

    No special incentives exist at present for co-generation. However, excess power produced from co-generation could be sold within the LPIP.

  • Tariff

    TNB as sole distributor of electric power offers an Industrial Sector discount and a Volume Promotion Discount negotiated directly with TNB.

    The following rates are extracts from a 1996 TNB Tariff Scheduled for "Special Customers Who Qualify".

  • Water Supply

    The existing water supply network is of potable grade to WHO standards. Water of industrial grade is not supplied. The tariff for industrial use is as follows:

    First cubic metres RM1.20 per cu.m.
    Above 10 cubic metres RM1.40 per cu.m.


  • Natural Gas

    Natural Gas requirements under 3 million standard cubic feet are supplied by Gas Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. In excess of this volume, gas is supplied by Petronas Gas Bhd., the monopoly supplier of natural gas in Malaysia.

    The scope for gas supply by Gas Malaysia includes the provision of a feeder pipeline and metering.

    The tariff for gas comprises two components, a fixed charge per month and a commodity charge, inclusive of an indexation mechanism tied to foreign currency rates and the posted Singapore price for medium fuel oil applied on a monthly basis.

    For budgetary purposes the following rates could be used:

    For consumption 200,000 - 750,000 million BTU per annum

    Fixed charge
    Commodity charge

    RM320,000 per month
    RM0.32 per standard cubic metre

    For consumption 50,000 - 200,000 million BTU per annum
    Fixed charge
    Commodity charge
    RM15,000 per month
    RM0.40 per standard cubic metre
